Indy Parks and Recreation Playground Renovations

Thanks to funding from the American Rescue Plan, Indy Parks will replace playground equipment at 26 locations.

Announced by Mayor Joe Hogsett in October 2021, Indy Parks will use $16.7 million in federal funding to transform its playgrounds.

Playground Renovations

Twenty-six different playgrounds will be renovated with new equipment and rubberized or synthetic turf surfacing. Some additional work will occur at some parks such as new walking paths, basketball court resurfacing, and picnic shelter renovations. Details about the work at each individual park can be found here.

“Parks serve as a critical refuge in our city, giving our children safe places to play while offering free meal programs, educational activities, and community gatherings. With the American Rescue Plan investment, we are dedicating much needed funding to beautifully transform and enhance park playgrounds.”
