MLK Gateway Public Art Project: Call for Historic Photos

Indy Parks is partnering with RG Collaborative and GRT Hot Glass Studios on a new MLK Gateway Public Art Project at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. As part of this effort, we are inviting community members to submit historic photos of MLK Park and its surrounding neighborhoods.

We are seeking photographs dating from the 1920s to 1970. These may include community gatherings or significant events that took place in or around the park. Selected images will help tell the story of MLK Park as part of the new public art exhibit on the new MLK Gateway canopy.

Submission Instructions:

  • Upload high-resolution images (minimum 600 dpi, up to 20MB) through our form below.

  • Physical photos: Drop off prints (preferably 3”x5” or larger) at Reprographix, 437 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN 46204, Monday through Friday during business hours.

  • You may send high res images (up to 20MB files) via email to: admin@rgcollaborative.com.

Deadline: October 10, 2025

By sharing your photos, you’ll be part of preserving the rich history of MLK Park for generations to come.
